My first husband and I have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. My husband Gary came into our marriage in 1979 with 2 boys. He has 3 grandchildren . We have been married 45 years. We're blessed to have such a large blended family over so many years. I have been inflicted with multiple sclerosis since 1984, but God has enabled me to have a productive full life.
My diagnosis of MS has been changed in 2023 to post polio syndrome. Not able to drive.

I worked at Brunton Motor Parts for 37 years, retiring Nov. 2015.  My wife Sandy and Itry to go the casino about twice a week. I’ve been collecting coins since my teens so that keeps me busy. I also collect football, baseball, and NASCAR cards. I also have a lot of Beatles memorabilia. I played softball for 30 years, bowled for many years, played  pool, shot darts also for years. I love being retired and should have retired earlier. I sure don’t miss getting up to go to work and driving in crummy weather. Retirement is the greatest and so nice to relax and enjoy life at your speed.

Husband, Phil DeKeizer, is  thinking about retiring..........It is getting more difficult to have a job and do what he loves most .....doing all the landscaping in our yard. He moves shrubs and plants around  all the time and his lawn is close to perfect. Like everything else he does.
I work at Ivster Jackson Blackstream, Christies International located in Asheville, NC.  (Buncombe County) The office is 45 minute drive so I work out of our home in Henderson County.  Began sales with Coldwell Banker in 1988, then co owner of Preferred Realty. After many years of  ownership, I  was  tired of managing a company and resigned,  Enjoy showing our  area to people from all over the country. The mountains are beautiful, great climate, Beautiful waterfalls and so much to see  and do including free dance bands every friday nite in the summer.  Just bring your chair  with you.  Car shows too.  Saturday nite there is also free music.  Again, bring your chair
Very few mosquitoes because they do not like moving water is what the local people tell me.  Love the climate..........But, do miss the people in Beloit!!!!

I retired in 2016 and moved back to Wisconsin after living in various parts of the country ... Muskegon, Rockford, Milwaukee, Salt Lake City, Tucson, and finally settled down for 35 years in Charlotte, NC.  I moved to Muskego, WI in 2015 after my 2nd wife of 40 years (Carol Matichich) passed away.  I was previously married to fellow classmate Pam (Harred) West for about 5 years .  Our daughter Monica, lives in West Allis with her husband Scott, and 3 children ... Olivia, Campbell, and Mackale.  Pam and I take great pride in our daughter and our beautiful grandkids.  My working life, like many of our classmates, has taken a few twists and turns.  I graduated from Muskegon Technical College with an associate degree in Cast Metals Technology, and worked in the foundry industry for 5 years.  I then exploited my background by landing a job with IBM in Tucson, AZ as a purchasing agent procuring cast metal components.  With IBM, I was fortunate to quality for a retraining program in which IBM sent me back to college to get my Computer Science degree.  I spent the next 20 years with IBM in a software support role for banking clients requiring automated check processing systems.  This led to my accepting a job with one of my clients, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, managing their nationwide check processing of check image archiving.  I mostly worked from home for 15 years until retiring in 2016.  My hobbies include woodworking, and tinkering with anything involving Apple products ... Macs, iPhones, iPads, AppleTV, Watch, etc.  Also, I enjoy supporting this web site.

"Along the way I've learned some things:  You have to make the good times yourself ... take the little times and make them into big times ... and save the times that are all right for the ones that aren't so good" (Rod McKuen).

I have moved 21 times, and lived in 9 states ... from California to New Jersey to the past 28 years in Texas.  We live in a log cabin complete with dogs and miniature donkeys ... and also a beach condo where the balcony hangs over the Gulf.  Professions from book seller to landscaper to owning Herbs & Stuff - then on to my passion of genealogy research (which led to meeting my biological father for the first time at age 58 ... he was 84 years old.). Hobbies include photography ... from the mountains to the deserts to the shore birds of Galveston ... and now photo-ops with our 14 month old granddaughter!.  I was 72 when she was born ... guess good things do come to those who wait!.

Husband Dr. Marc is a PhD chemist ... who recently retired.  Daughter Holly is an aerospace engineer working for NASA ... on duty at Mission Control when the last Space Shuttle blasted off.

Our bucket list includes visiting all 50 states ... which we will have done once we take the Road Trek to Alaska (for both of us) and Maine (for Marc).  We've even been to Puerto Rico ... just in case it some day becomes a state!

Thank you BMHS for a quality education ... you know you are old when one yearns for the good old days!  Times have certainly changed.

I am happily retired and living in Atlanta with Jim Hall, my husband of 40 years (an IBM retiree with 43 years of service) and our Standard Poodle, Daisy Mae.  Jim is from Omaha, NE.  We have 1 son, Kevin, who lives in Aurora, CO is unmarried and is a chef.  Before retiring, our jobs presented us with the opportunity to live in 5 cities ncluding Rockford, Illinois, Boca Raton, Florida, Leawood, Kansas, Coral Springs, Florida and finally, Atlanta, Georgia.   We all enjoy traveling whenever and wherever the opportunity arises. So far, we have covered much of North, Central and South America, Europe and India.  Cruising is our favorite mode of travel though we will fly, train or bus if necessary to get there.

Additional Education:
Beloit College graduate, Class of 1968 - BA in History and Political Science, World Outlook Program - Internship with United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland

Employment:
State of Illinois Dept of Public Aid 1968-1983 in Cook, DuPage and Winnebago counties, County Administrator
American Express TRS, Fort Lauderdale, FL - 1984-1995, Customer Care Manager
General Electric, Atlanta, GA - 1995-2008, GE Capital Performance Management Leader and Six Sigma Master Black Belt
Assurant, Atlanta - 2008-2015, Vice President Operations Quality

Of all the opportunities that I've had in my life, the one I am most appreciative of is growing up in Beloit.  The family, friends and experiences gained in this community prepared me for a full life and provided me with a childhood that I still marvel at, one that gave me the solid footing I needed for the life I later found.  It was and remains special.

I spent most of my working years teaching third grade. After retirement, my husband and I spent a number of years traveling for 3 months each winter with our 5th wheel trailer. We also took a few weeks each summer to sail across Lake Superior, and nestle back into various anchorages along the wilderness coast of Ontario.

Due to my husband’s health issues, we are no longer traveling, but we both have settled into activities at home that keep us happy and busy.  I began doing a variety of volunteer work for the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s Draper Natural History Museum.  I spend time in the Draper Lab, observing eagle nests for Dr. Charles Preston’s long-term research project on nesting golden eagles, and writing observation reports of raptor sightings in the Bighorn Basin.  In 2011 Dr. Preston began the Draper Museum Raptor Experience, a live raptor education program funded by grants and donations.  I immediately became part of this, training as a bird handler, and studying each species that we have in our program so that I can present, and/or answer questions about each bird that I work with.  We have 11 handicapped, non-releasable birds.  I am qualified to work with all except the two eagles, as I am not physically able to deal with their weight.  I have discovered that having a bird on my glove is my all time favorite thing in life.  I also write blogs for our raptor program, so if you are interested in birds, check those out at: https://centerofthewest.org/author/anneh/

I am married to Dennis, have 1 son, Jeff, 2 step sons, Dennis & Grant and 2 step grandchildren Brittany & Olivia.  After graduating from BMHS, I worked 30 wonderful years at Beloit Corporation, Beloit, Wisconsin.  During that time frame, I married and was blessed with a wonderful son.  Then, after experiencing a divorce, I remarried, and because of my husband's job transfer (he, also, worked for Beloit Corporation) moved to Greenville, South Carolina (mailing address is Simpsonville, but we are actually part of Greenville, SC).  After retiring from a technology company where I worked for 15 additional years after moving to Greenville,  I quickly realized that I liked the office environment too much to be devoid of that in my life.  So, I found a part time job.  I was lucky to find a wonderful, caring, company that deals with children  who are experiencing speech and hearing problems and behavior issues.  I only work part time there so  my schedule is very flexible  and am able to still do things that I want to do and when I want to do them.  I thoroughly enjoy gardening and have been told that I have a "green thumb."  Fortunately, the southeast area and its temperate winter climate, allows me to plant flowers all year long and enjoy their beauty.    I also like to cook, read the latest novels, and my husband and I love to take "day trips" around the area and enjoy the different places of interest -- that includes stopping at many restaurants and enjoying all the good food this area offers!  I am not a long distance traveler, though, as many retirees are.

Interesting info:  Greenville, South Carolina, where I live, is a gorgeous city that boasts a spectacular downtown area with an incredible natural WATER FALL!  The city has been cited in numerous national magazines because of this one attraction and many other features, as well.         Y'All come and see us!

I was so lucky to be a stay-at-home mom when my boys were young. I got involved in volunteering for PTA, Cub Scouts and church. Life was wonderful -------until it wasn't.
After a divorce when the boys were middle school and close-to-middle-school age, I went to work for the Beloit Daily News where I stayed for about 20 years moving up to Regional Editor and finally Lifestyle editor. I left the BDN to work marketing and fund-raising for Stateline United Way, retiring from there in 2011.
Today I spend my time going to water exercise three mornings a week, volunteer for the hospital and for Beloit Historical Society. A group of friends meet Fridays for breakfast, as we have done for about 20 years now.
Son Rob married a woman with three children and the daughter had a baby boy in May, my first great grandchild. Yay!!! I have been out to see him twice already. Rob is part owner of a commerical real estate firm in Victorville, CA - Kursch Group.
David is a lt. for the Beloit Fire Department. He is married and has three sons aged 28 to 13.

After graduation, I worked in the office at Pate Foods. I married John in 1965 and continued working at Pate's, Wentworth Auto and Taylor Freezer. In 1972 I quit Taylor to be a stay at home mom to my first child. I did bookwork for John's painting business and continued to work once in awhile at Taylor as needed. After my third child, I went back to Taylor and continued there for 25 years.  I retired in 2006 as Administrative Assistant and I loved working there.  I then worked through Manpower at Taylor, part time for a few years. I now do bookwork for my son's painting business.

I have three children, Carrie (Max) Loerke, Matt Menke and Luke (Kelly) Menke and four grandchildren. I enjoy helping with my grandchildren in whatever situation they need me for and thankful that three live in Beloit and one at UW Milwaukee.  Sad to say, my husband passed away in 2014.

I stay busy with various activities, helping others with projects, going out to eat with my former bowling team, retiree gals from Taylor and some high school gals also. Also, keep busy around my home and property and keeping photo books current for my grandchildren.

I love to travel and have been to Canada, Bahamas, Norway and 48 of the States . Frequent visits to North Dakota, Hayward and Lake Delton, to stay at "family getaways." I have always volunteered for various areas at my church and continue to do so.

Since I graduated in 1964 I have owned a resort in Hayward Wisconsin that had 52 campsites, 14 cabins, a bar and restaurant.  I sold the resort in 2010 and now reside in Hayward.  We have purchased a house in Sun City West Arizona and we spend our winters there.  We have extra bedrooms if anyone wants to visit ... give us a call.  I wish I could come to the reunion this year, however I have kidney failure and I spend three days a week in dialysis which leaves me tired and not in the best condition to enjoy the reunion.  The reason I am writing this is because the cause of my kidney failure is Type 2 diabetes.  My doctors never told me the severe results that Type 2 diabetes has on your body, they just increased my medicine.  I hope everyone that has Type 2 diabetes will take extreme care in correcting your situation so that you do not find yourself in my situation.  Thank you for sharing this.

Following my graduation from BMHS I received a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Shortly thereafter, I moved to Chicago, IL to accept a planning position with a federal/city program focused on revitalizing target neighborhoods. (I still reside in Chicago and have no plans to leave.  I love the energy of the city).
I enjoyed working in several roles in Chicago, but ultimately retired from my position, Vice President, Human Resources at CNA Insurance Company, after 30 years of service.
My husband, Ananias, and I enjoyed 30 years of marriage before he lost his battle with cancer in July, 2017. His son from his prior marriage and his grandson remind me of my wonderful husband.
My primary hobby has been genealogical research.  I have enjoyed researching my family history and sharing the information with my large extended family. (We hold family reunions every 2 years which usually attract between 150 – 200 people). My other interests include community involvement; maintaining Chicago’s architectural diversity; and enjoying the arts (visual art, music, dance and plays); and gardening.

After graduation, I received an undergraduate degree from Milton College and a masters degree from UW Whitewater. I taught high school biology and, for a time, computer science during my 38 years in the classroom. I also served in the Army Reserves in Beloit.  I enjoyed a life in the outdoors enjoying many adventure sports. I enjoy both whitewater and ocean kayaking, mt. biking, skiing, hunting, fishing and expedition canoeing. Later in life I married and with my wife Shirley raised her four children, Michelle, Mike, Greg and Drew. Now retired, I still pursue the same activities as much as possible.

After graduation from BMHS I worked for several cities in Wisconsin starting with The Beloit Engineering Department.  I married Joanne in 1965 who is now also retired.  We have two sons and four grandsons.

In Beloit I started out as a draftsman and later on as a Planning Aide.  We left Beloit and moved to Janesville where I was the Associate Planner.  In Ripon I was the Assistant Director of Public Works.  I returned to the Ciy of Beloit Engineering Department and became a Certified Engineering Technician.

During my time as an Engineering Technician I completed college with a BS degree in Public Administration in 1985,  In 1988 I took the position of Beloit Transit Manager.  During my tenure I revamped the route system and help implement the Beloit-Janesville Express.  In addition I procured a new fleet of buses and obtained funding to build the new transit operations facility on Willow Brook Road.

I retired from BTS in 2000.  We now reside in Bloomer, Wi

As a family we traveled to all 50 states and Europe.  We enjoy cruises and have cruised to Alaska three times and Hawaii.  I also enjoy photography, oil and water painting and traveling to observe steam railroading.

Married for 50 years. My wife Karen and I have three children and  have always lived in Beloit. I worked at Beloit Corp for 25 years. They went out of business and after a few
years doing design drafting at different places, ended up  at the Turner school district.
I retired in 2008. I also officiated  five different sports over about 30 years  in area
schools.

We we enjoy our seven grandchildren and getting all the family together. We love spending
time in Florida in the winter.
